Heather is a Registered Provisional Psychologist and also has an
Education degree. Heather completed her Masters at the University of Yorkville and received her Education degree through the University of Alberta with a minor in special education. She has been a special education teacher for the past 13 years and a school counsellor for 4 of those years. She has extensive experience working with children of all ages including those with anxiety, depression, and trauma. Her experience extends to children of all abilities including those diagnosed with Autism, Down Syndrome, Tourettes, and mild/moderate cognitive disorders. Heather is also a certified kids yoga instructor for the past 13 years.
Throughout her Master's Degree, Heather completed her seven month practicum at an Indigenous Youth Treatment Center for females ages 12-17 years old. Heather supported these youth through addictions, sexual, physical, and emotional abuse, grief and loss as well as other various traumatic experiences.
Along with her private practice, Heather also worked for the Kids with Cancer Society of Edmonton through the Brainworks Program supporting kids with brain tumours.
